Jake Batsell: Dallas, TX, United States; I'm a recovering ink-stained wretch who reported for The Seattle Times and The Dallas Morning News, where I learned to shoot and edit video as the "hybrid reporter" for the DMN's Metro Desk. I now teach digital journalism, media entrepreneurship, investigative reporting and technology reporting at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where I am faculty adviser to smudailycampus.com. I'm also working on a book about audience engagement and enjoy sharing and learning about the future of news on Twitter.
